Young Entrepreneurs Foundation and Volkswagen Raising Future Entrepreneurs
17 May 2018In July 2017, the Young Entrepreneurs (YE) Foundation launched its first programme at Uitenhage Primary School.
This programme is funded by the donations received from the Volkswagen for Good initiative. The YE Foundation's programme teaches children aged between 7-15 years vital entrepreneurial and financial literacy skills.
This helps children to start and grow their own micro-enterprises in a fun and experiential way. The Programme ran from 31 July to 24 November 2017 with the school being utilised as a study centre. The classes are offered by YE accredited facilitators who then divide the children into two groups; minipreneurs (Grade 2-3) and kidpreneurs (Grade 4-6).
In addition, backpacks, books and various learning material required for the programme was given to the children. With the South African youth constituting 36.2% of our population, nurture and development are crucial to securing a better future for our country.
